Local Rules

Please note that the Canyon #5 hazard is marked with Green Capped Red Stakes.
This means that area is an ESA - environmentally sensitive area and no player is allowed inside that staked area.  If your ball lies in that area it is a LOST BALL and you must proceed to the drop area on the far side of the hazard, drop a ball and play according to hazard procedure taking a penalty!!!!

Please note that on Meadow #9, for speed of play, a player will be allowed to hit a provisional ball if it is uncertain whether her first ball cleared the hazard.  A player may only hit two balls into the hazard before moving to the drop area. (Exception - Canyon #5)
If the provisional ball is also believed to have entered the hazard the player must advance to the area of the Gold Tee markers, drop a 3rd ball and proceed from there once it has been determined that the first two balls did not clear the hazard.

USGA Rules Changes for 2012

Rule 18-2b
Ball moving after address
A new exception is added which exonerates the player from penalty if his / her ball moves after it has been addressed when it is known or virtually certain that the player did not cause the ball to move.  For example, if a gust of wind moves the ball after it has been addressed, there is no penalty and the ball is played from its new position.

Rule 13-4
Ball in Hazard: Prohibited Actions
Exception 2 to this Rule is amended to permit a player to smooth sand or soil in a hazard at any time, including before playing from that hazard, provided it is for the sole purpose of caring for the course and Rule 13-2 (improving lie, area of intended swing / stance or line of play) is not breached.

Rule 6-3a
Time of Starting
The Rule is amended to provide that the penalty for starting late, but within 5 minutes of starting time, is reduced from disqualification to loss of the first hole in Match Play or two stroke penalty in Stroke Play.  Previously, this penalty reduction could be introduced as a condition of competition.
